Green Oaks Gators – Personal Best Stars
The Program
The purpose of the Personal Best Stars program is to provide swimmers with an incentive to improve each week, all season long! This program is designed to recognize personal growth, development and improvement.
Here’s how the Personal Best Stars work…
The Stars are designed to reward a swimmer for improving his or her personal best time in any stroke at any official league meet.
Each swimmer starts the summer with a clean slate. The first official times of record are those from the 6/5/10 meet at Hunters Hill. If a swimmer does not participate in the 6/5/10 meet, his or her first official times will be the times recorded from his or her first meet of record in the 2010 season, (not including the practice meet).
Any personal bests achieved after 6/5/10 will be recognized with iron-on stars. In other words, most swimmers will be eligible to receive stars following the June 12th meet, in which he or she will have the opportunity to improve upon times recorded in the June 5th meet.
- One personal best time in a given meet earns a swimmer a white star.
- Two personal best times in a particular meet earn the swimmer a red star.
- Three personal best times in a given meet earn the swimmer a gold star.
If a swimmer has only DQed in a given event and then competes in a meet without a DQ, the first official time will be awarded with a personal best star.
All stars reflect personal race performances, not relay events.
